The measuring cylinder is an instrument for measuring the volume of liquid. It is a vertical cylindrical shape with a mouth on one side of the upper edge for easy pouring. When observing the reading, the experimenter should pay attention to the sight line needs to be level with the lowest point of the concave liquid surface (or the highest point of the convex liquid surface).

Looking up is the line of sight obliquely upwards. The intersection of the line of sight and the wall of the cylinder is below the water surface, so the data read is low, and the actual measured solution value is high.
